As the original high school in Rochester, John Marshall (JM) has a storied history of excellence and community pride. Located in Northwest Rochester and serving students in grades 9-12, JM is a place where tradition meets innovation. We are dedicated to providing our Rockets with the knowledge, independence, and resilience to pursue a fulfilling path.

What Makes John Marshall Special:

• A legacy of giving back: JM Rockets take immense pride in a culture of service. Every December, our school community comes together for JM Gives, a signature program where students and staff partner to give back to the Rochester community. This tradition fosters a deep sense of belonging and helps students develop the character and empathy needed to lead.
• Diverse and rigorous academic pathways: We offer a comprehensive curriculum designed to meet the unique needs of our diverse student body. From Advanced Placement (AP) and College in the Schools (CIS) to hands-on learning in Tech Prep and Project Lead the Way (PLTW), we provide the tools for students to gain the knowledge and college credit they need to get a head start on their future.
• Proven success and college readiness: With approximately 82% of our graduates moving on to institutions of higher education, John Marshall is a proven launching pad for success. We focus on building student independence through various Post Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) and a supportive environment that ensures every Rocket is prepared for the rigors of life after graduation.
