Kellogg Middle School

Who We Are

Nestled in the northeast of Rochester, Kellogg Middle School is more than just a place to learn — it’s a community where students grow, connect, and discover who they are. Since becoming a middle school in 1989, Kellogg has been dedicated to helping every student reach their full potential through curiosity, creativity, and care. With a rich history, welcoming classrooms, and a staff who truly believe in their students, Kellogg continues to be a place where everyone belongs and every day brings new opportunities to learn and succeed.

What We Do

What Makes Kellogg Special:

  • A global & gifted learning community: Kellogg celebrates the diverse stories of all our students. We are proud to be one of the hosts of the district’s Newcomers Program, welcoming students from around the world, as well as specialized sections of the Advanced Learning program. This unique blend of perspectives ensures that every student is met at their individual level and challenged to grow.
  • Hands-on, real-world experience: We believe learning should go beyond textbooks. Our students recently partnered with Rochester Area Builders to construct a real two-story playhouse, learning about safety, budgeting, and teamwork. By turning class time into real-world projects, we help students build the independence and practical skills they need for a fulfilling path ahead.
  • The CARE philosophy: We take a restorative, community-based approach to student growth through our CARE program (Common Academy for Restoration and Empathy). By focusing on rebuilding relationships and understanding rather than just consequences, we have seen repeat offenses drop, creating a safer, more supportive environment for everyone.
